There’s a new limited edition whiskey at Rabbit Hole Distillery. Raceking Founder’s Collection Double Chocolate Malt is a Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey with a mash bill of 3% chocolate malted barley, 13% rye, 4% chocolate malted wheat, 70% corn, and 10% malted rye. There’s no chocolate flavoring added, but rather there are two malted grains malted to a chocolate malt level by expert maltsters in Germany giving the flavor profile lots of nutty and chocolate notes. It’s 95 proof and only available for a limited time.

When it comes to chocolate malt, a little dab will do ya, and it’s easy to get carried away. This is in perfect harmony, which I was suprprised about with two kinds of malt. I’ve never had any whiskey with chocolate malted wheat before, so it was interesting to see how that played out. This is not a chocolate flavored whiskey and the chocolate notes are really subtle. It’s definitely worth a try!
