One of my favorite spots in Louisville has just started serving food, so now this rooftop bar is now also my favorite brunch spot in Louisville. The views from the rooftop of Copper & Kings are some of the best in town, and now I can actually take my family for brunch/lunch to enjoy it together.

The food service here is brand new – it’s only been going for a little over a month. So far it looks like it’s the best-kept secret in Louisville, because when I went on a beautiful, perfect fall Saturday morning recently it was no packed, as I had anticipated. So this is my service to you, to tell you that you should check out ALEX&NDER for brunch this weekend. Just save me a seat.

There’s something for everybody and everything was absolutely amazing.  The Fat Lamb‘s Dallas McGarity joins Beverage Director Eron Plevan as the Chef-in-residence at Copper & Kings.

Says McGarity, the new concept is “A superior culinary experience, but one that is deeply hospitable. Our menu will be small and carefully curated, we want a menu that is elegantly simple without being intimidating, and that can complement the outstanding drinks served in ALEX&NDER. My wife and business partner, Laura and I feel a great affinity to Lesley and Joe. We can’t understand their accents, but we do laugh a lot together, and they have such ambition for excellence. The distillery is beautiful, ALEX&NDER may be one of the best bars in the world and our food must live up to that. We want to be part of the Butchertown culinary expansion, work in the same environment as some outstanding chefs, and we want to play a role in continuing to bring more and more people to one of Louisville’s most exciting neighborhoods.”

The current brunch menu, available until 3 pm, includes:

  • Feta, caramelized onion, and red pepper scramble
  • Brioche egg sandwich
  • Sugared waffles
  • Gochujang & hoisin glazed brussels sprouts
  • Truffle fries
  • Hot sauce marinated fried chicken sandwich
  • Griddled double cheeseburger
  • BBQ pulled pork sliders
  • Curried black bean croquette sliders

There are also dinner hours, presumably with a different menu. And as always, the bar is open for drinks.

Dinner W-F, 5-10pm

Brunch & Dinner, Sat 11am -10pm

Brunch & Dinner, Sun 11am – 7pm
