Red Yeti Brewing Company: Jeffersonville’s Hidden Gem

I love discovering the unexpected. It’s kind of my favorite pastime. So when I was enjoying the Kentucky Derby over at Match Cigar Bar this year and decided it would be easier to get into a restaurant on the Indiana side of the river once the race was over, I was happy to find Red Yeti Brewing Company.

I have to admit I had a misconception about it- I thought it was typical brewery fare of pizzas and burgers. Turns out it was so much more than that. There was a farm-to-table vibe going on which was really quite lovely. We started off with a cheese board which we devoured instantly. The cheeses came from regional makers such as Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese and Capriole Farms.

We both got the Trio of Tacos after a suggestion from a fellow patron down at Match. There was a grilled shrimp taco, a beef taco, and a pork taco each with fresh vegetables and corn tortillas. The flavors were fresh and the 3 tacos were filling.

There was a full bar complete with bourbon and a handmade Mint Julep since it was Derby. I’ve had Red Yeti beer before and it’s fabulous, but I think I was most impressed with the beer menu on a television screen on the wall-fewer allergies than the typical chalk boards you find in breweries.

I was happy to find this hidden gem over in Jeffersonville.
