There’s a new bourbon-themed inn in town.  Although Louisville has several bourbon-themed hotels, Chateau Bourbon is the only bourbon-themed bed and breakfast in the world (that I know of anyway).  I headed out to Norton Commons this afternoon for the ribbon cutting ceremony to take a look around.

Though this beautiful B&B just opened up a few weeks ago, they have already had quite a few guests.  Each room has its own luxurious bathroom with huge walk-in showers and all but 1 has an enormous soaker tub.  Rooms also feature separate outdoor spaces.  Two of the four rooms have balconies, one has a patio with fire pit, and one has a sleeping porch complete with an extra bed for guests who might want to sleep outdoors.  The decor can only be described as “Bourbon Country Chic”- there are lighting fixtures made of barrel heads and bourbon bottles, barrel-inspired headboards, and reproduction whiskey labels throughout the property.

The centerpiece of the living room is a working fireplace, which would be a great place to warm up this time of year.  The kitchen has beautiful and functional country style with modern conveniences.  There’s a business center for anyone who might need it.  The front porch features an enormous porch swing that is likely to be the most popular spot at the inn come Springtime.

This would be a great getaway spot for a staycation weekend and it is a lovely addition to Louisville’s high-end accommodations.  They are offering $199 a night rooms through the end of January.  The Chateau Bourbon website is expected to be completed soon.
